Part 2: Hyperhidrosis Treatments (Anecdotal Cases)

In my prior post I discussed the mainstream treatments for hyperhidrosis, in here I will focus more on people’s anecdotal experiences and compile them here for myself to consider applying and trying in my own life.

Basically I was just mostly combing through reddit threads and reading about people’s personal experiences and things that seemed helpful for them.

I’ll try to categorize them a bit:

Teas:

  • Sage or capsule form
  • Helichrysum arenarium
  • Alchemilla vulgaris (claimed to regulate hormones?)

Dietary:

  • Going gluten free
  • Elimination of caffeine
  • Cut out or reduce dairy consumption
  • Possibly eat mostly meat based

Physical:

  • Increase exercise
  • Meditate or do yoga
  • End a usual hot shower with 1 minute of cool/cold water

Vitamins, minerals, and supplements:

  • Sodium Bicarbonate (possibly add lemon/lime to flavor?)
  • Beta alanine
  • Omega 3
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Vitamin D (I see that with this it’s more connected to craniofacial hyperhidrosis)
  • Probiotics

Topicals:

  • Peppermint oil

On a side not I also found along the way that part of the cause of hyperhidrosis might be linked to calcium channel blockers which is why blood pressure medications can be effective in the treatment of hyperhidrosis. Dysautonomia is also mentioned as a potential cause. I’m not too familiar with it so I googled the term and when I did the AI Overview point on causes and risk factors listed these:

I intend to add more to this particular post in the future, but for now I’ll just stop here.
